Installing OpenCart in cPanel

You can use the softaclous application to install OpenCart in cPanel.

CPanel’s Softaculous app is a tool available on most web hosting services that allows you to install many popular web applications with one click.

If you do not have a hosting service yet, you can choose one of the Hosting123 OpenCart hosting plans.

  1. Login to cPanel: Go to your hosting provider’s website and log in to your cPanel account using your username and password.
  2. Locate Softaculous: Once logged in, find and click on the “Softaculous Apps Installer” icon. This is usually located under the “Software” or “Web Applications” section in cPanel.
  3. Search for OpenCart: In the Softaculous dashboard, you can either find OpenCart under the “E-Commerce” category or use the search bar at the top to search for it directly.
  4. Select OpenCart: Once you’ve found OpenCart, click on it to start the installation process.
  5. Start Installation: On the OpenCart overview page, click the “Install” button to begin the installation process.
  6. Fill in Installation Details: You’ll be prompted to fill in some basic information about your OpenCart installation, including:
    • Choose Protocol: Select the appropriate protocol (HTTP or HTTPS) for your website.
    • Choose Domain: Select the domain name where you want to install OpenCart from the dropdown menu.
    • In Directory: Leave this field blank unless you want to install OpenCart in a subdirectory.
    • Store Name: Enter the name of your online store.
    • Admin Username: Choose a username for your OpenCart admin account.
    • Admin Password: Choose a strong password for your OpenCart admin account.
    • Admin Email: Enter your email address.
    • Select Language: Choose the language for your OpenCart store.
  7. Advanced Options (Optional): You can expand the “Advanced Options” section to configure additional settings such as database name, table prefix, and backup location. However, the default settings should work fine for most users.
  8. Install: After filling in all the required details, click the “Install” button to proceed with the installation.
  9. Wait for Installation: Softaculous will now install OpenCart on your server. This process may take a few moments, so be patient.
  10. Completion: Once the installation is complete, you’ll see a confirmation message with links to your OpenCart store and admin panel. Make sure to save the admin URL, username, and password in a secure place.

That’s it! You have successfully installed OpenCart using cPanel Softaculous. You can now log in to your OpenCart admin panel and start setting up your online store.
